Navman Wireless is celebrating a major milestone after fitting its pioneering system to its 50,000th UK vehicle.
The UK's largest manufacturer of tracking, messaging and navigation equipment for commercial fleet management hit the 50,000 connections landmark earlier this week.
Steve Blackburn, Navman Wireless European Vice President, said: "This is a major milestone that we are delighted to have reached in such short space of time.
"This goes a long way to prove Navman Wireless products are reliable, proven, successful and attractive to fleet managers across the UK."
Following recent soaring fuel prices, fleets operators across the UK have been flocking to introduce the award-winning systems, which include tracking, satellite navigation and integrated messaging. A study by Institute of Transport Management found the technology could reduce fuel consumption by 14 per cent.
Founded by Executive Vice President Tony Neill in 2001, Navman Wireless has firmly established itself as a global leader of the vehicle tracking industry.
The company's success earned it a Growth Strategy of the Year Award at the National Business Awards in July after launching the next generation of vehicle tracking, OnlineAVL2, earlier this year.
Mr Blackburn added: "The Navman Wireless brand has always been synonymous with innovation and performance - and this milestone certainly bolsters that reputation.
"We are delighted that our loyal customer base has supported our efforts over the years and we will continue to bring the best telematics systems to the fleet market."
Ends September 2008
