Logistics specialist tracks entire fleet to boost efficiency

TM Logistics has cut costs and made considerable productivity gains after investing in Navman Wireless's state of the art system in 2006 for 79 of its vehicles. It has now extended it to the rest of its fleet in a deal worth £90,000 to the vehicle tracking specialist.

"As a progressive, forward-thinking company we're always keen to utilise the latest in cutting edge technologies," said Dean Nicholas, Systems and Solutions Manager, TM Logistics.

"People are at the heart of our business and we believe in giving staff the tools they need to do their jobs effectively. The return on investment in this system is clear. Our operation has become even more efficient thanks to the increased visibility that vehicle tracking has brought to the business. What is more, Navman Wireless's technology is extremely user-friendly and has proved particularly reliable."

TM Logistics employs more than 300 people in 16 on site operations and warehouses across the UK. Headquartered in the Midlands, the company manages multimillion pound accounts for some of the world's leading blue chip names including Kingspan Group plc, Rexam Beverage Can plc, Crown Foods UK, Plastic Omnium, Saint Gobain Isover UK, DCS Europe and Worcester, Bosch Group.

Tony Neill, Navman Wireless Executive Vice President, added: "We are delighted that one of the best respected names in distribution has utilised our system so successfully. By extending their contract with us, we hope they will go on to benefit from even greater cost savings."

Navman Wireless is the UK's largest manufacturer of tracking, messaging and navigation equipment.
